Songs by Story - Dear Ana by Eclipses for Eyes

“I've discovered that all monsters are human,
and they'll devour anything that smells weak.”
-Dear Ana(Eclipses for Eyes)

“Stop it…” A single tear fell on Shelly Kane’s cheek. She was curled on a fetal position as Ana Burkely towered over her with a vicious smile on her face.
“Why? Because you’re in pain?” She lowered herself to whisper on the girl’s ear. “Where’s the fun in that?”
Ana takes out a bottle of water out of her locker and throws it at the poor girl.
“Take a shower. You’re filthy.”
As she begins to walk away, she didn’t discover Marilyn Blanc come out of the locker lane she was watching from.
“Are you alright?” She asks. Shelly only moans in pain.

“We have to do something about Ana Burkely…” The group watches as Ana shoves a freshmen to the floor.
“You’re not going to amount to anything, dipshit.” The freshmen crawls to his things and runs away.
“But…How?” Says Carly Mann. Marilyn holds a still shivering Shelly as the group of sophomores ponder on how to stop the cruel teenager. She, a teenager that exemplifies what teenagers believe as a battle royale for class in a culture that has taught everyone to deny anything different. The poison that ruined youth.
“Tara, you’re brother’s Mason James, right?” Tara nods as they see him walk by.
“She has a thing for him.” Vicky Lynn beckons him over.
“Did my sister do something?”
“We need your help.”

Ana and Mason stood in the school hall, all lovey dovey in front of everyone.
“How much do you love me?” The lovestruck Ana says.
Mason smiles, as vicious as she did to Shelly.
“…I don’t” The dumbstruck Ana stared in surprise.
Mason shuts his locker.
“But… The letters, the dates…”
“Lies. You can’t have me, Ana.”
Ana came out of her stupor and went into a blind rage.
“You said I was beautiful! You said you loved me.”
“You’re just fine, Ana, but you’re uglier on the inside out.”
Ana, again dumbstruck, stood silently.
“The truth? You’re a manipulative, spoiled, and evil bitch. And I’ve got proof.”
The T.V.s around school began opening all, one by one, showing clips of various acts of evil and dirt she had done.
Ana began shaking her head, like all she had destroyed with just words.
“How does it feel, Ana?”
Everyone began laughing and on cue, everyone else began saying
“How does it feel to be told that it’s all been lies?”
“You’re just fine Ana.”
“How does it feel, Ana.”
She raced out of the school and never returned.

*Dear Ana is a Song by Eclipses by Eyes. The song interprets how the real monsters of the community are Humans, choosing to deny and outcast anything different. This is a perfect example of the youth, as the song also says, that have been poisoned by this culture. It doesn’t take physical action to destroy someone now. All one needs are words. Because words are the sharpest weapons one can brandish. That much a teenager has forged.
